Flying to a destination often means that a vacation is about to start, which should be a fun and stress-free time. However, there are still many things to consider before even arriving at the airport. Here are three things to think about before a flight.

1. The Location of the Airports

The last thing you want to be doing the morning of your flight is figuring out how to get to the airport. Do some research ahead of time and decide whether taking a taxi, Uber, or another type of airport transportation service New York City is a better option than driving to the airport yourself and parking in their garage. Give extra thought to your transportation options in your destination airport, especially if it is in an unfamiliar area. Some airports are a great distance from the city center, while others are more centrally located.

2. What You Need to Pack

Packing for a vacation can be fun, but it can also be stressful to remember to pack everything you need. Fortunately, there are lots of packing checklists that you can find online to help with this process. Always remember medications and other items not easily obtained at your destination. If you are leaving the country, remember to bring any needed identification and forms to enter and exit the destination country. Also, consider that most airlines have weight limits on checked baggage and size limits for carry-on bags.

3. When You Need To Arrive

Lines at airport security can be unpredictable, so it is advisable to arrive at the airport with plenty of time before your flight. Typical guidelines say to arrive one hour before a domestic flight and two hours before an international flight. Still, it never hurts to arrive earlier, even if it means having to pass some time at airport shops or bars.

Consider these three things to help ensure stress-free travels.
